ABOUT US

The Franschhoek SPCA is situated in La Province Street, Groendal in the Franschhoek valley.

We deal with all cruelty reports as well as pre- and post-home inspections and general pro-active work. We cover the entire Stellenbosch municipality. We work predominantly in Franschhoek and the surrounding valley, but in emergencies we go as far as Caledon, Villiersdorp and Grayton. We also work closely with the Cape of Goodhope SPCA who helps us take care of larger animals.

We run regular free clinics including the sterilisation of male and female dogs and cats.

We are a non-profit organisation and rely on the general public for financial support. To find out more about how you can help contribute to the continuation of our organisation and the work we do, click here.

HANELEY DANIELS

I worked for the Franschhoek SPCA during 2003, running their second-hand shop. I then worked for a vet for five years, where I continued to learn a lot about animals, taking care of them and assisting with their treatment. After that I worked for the SAPS for a while, but with my passion for animals, it was a very easy decision for me to make the change and go back to working with animals when the SPCA offered me the job!
The best thing for me is being able to help animals every day and to love and respect them as sentient beings. I also love helping to educate the animal owners; there is never a time when education is not necessary, no matter how young or old the animal owner is.
